PackCheck v1.0.0 — Offline Bundle Preflight for Windows
A downloadable tool for Windows
Your customer shouldn’t be your QA department.
Catch missing frames, broken assets, duplicate files and bundle mistakes before you ship.
PackCheck is a local, offline preflight tool for Windows. Scan the folder or ZIP you are about to deliver, review a PASS / WARN / BLOCK verdict, and export an HTML report. Built for game-asset creators and anyone shipping structured file bundles.
One missing animation frame. A real test.
We scanned a real Infinium game animation folder containing 37 files: PASS. We copied the folder and deleted apprentice_attack_03_64, leaving 36 files. PackCheck detected the missing sequence member as a WARN. Confirming that sequence as required escalated the finding to BLOCK.
The four screenshots show that actual v1.0.0 workflow: the clean folder, the sabotaged copy, the required-sequence result, and the exact missing-frame finding. Numbering gaps can be intentional, so you decide whether an inferred sequence is required.
What PackCheck checks
- Folder or ZIP inventory, with PASS / WARN / BLOCK results.
- Corrupt or unreadable deliverables in the checks it supports; PNG/JPEG decoding and basic PDF parsing.
- Exact duplicate content, suspicious copy names, and junk/temp files.
- Strongly inferred missing multi-format counterparts and numbered sequence gaps.
- Local-machine references in supported readable text and PDF content.
- Offline web-reference extraction and HTML report export. URLs are extracted, not visited or checked online.
Scanning runs locally. No PackCheck account, subscription, cloud upload, telemetry, DRM, or activation. Purchasing and downloading through itch.io requires internet access. PackCheck reads your source files; it does not repair or alter them.
Understand the result
PASS means no warnings or blocking findings in the checks performed. WARN means review a possible mistake. BLOCK means a blocking finding needs attention. None is a guarantee of completeness or correctness.
Numbered gaps are inferred only between observed bounds, not before the first or after the last member. Strongly inferred missing format counterparts may block by default. Pattern reviews apply to the current scan and are included in the exported report.
Limits, plainly stated
This is a preflight aid, not exhaustive QA. Other file formats are inventoried and hashed, not fully validated. No OCR, Office-document parsing, malware scan, visual/creative review, or DPI/bleed certification. PDF checks do not render pages or certify print readiness. Nested ZIPs are not recursively scanned. Text inspection is capped at 5 MB per file.
ZIP limits: 20,000 entries, 2 GB expanded total, 512 MB per member, and 1,000× expansion. Encrypted ZIPs, unsafe paths, symlinks, and duplicate archive paths are blocked; folder symlinks/junctions are skipped with warnings. Reports can contain filenames, local paths, and extracted references; review them before sharing.
